Beirut or Amman — which crossing is actually easier this year?
Irish passport. I can fly to either city. I care about hours, cash, and not getting stuck after lunch in a shared car that has decided it is done for the day.
Beirut is shorter on the map. Amman looks flatter and more “bus company.” Singer Tours from Cola is full the days I can travel. Do I do the Chtoura hops, or do I just pay for JETT out of Amman and stop thinking?

Beirut is the usual first arrival: about 120 km, Masnaa / Jdeidet Yabous, cash dollars at the Syrian window. Amman is longer and flatter: Jaber / Nassib, and Jordan charges a 10-dinar land exit tax the airport does not.
Hours fight on both sides. Arabic reporting still has public cars at Masnaa roughly 06:00–16:00; other 2026 notes run later. Do not plan a shared car after mid-afternoon. Morning is the working assumption. Jaber has been printed as 24 hours and as 08:00–18:00 in the same season. Leave Amman in the morning.
If Singer is full, Cola to Chtoura hops, or a shared seat, or a booked car. JETT has been listing about 10 JOD one way. That is a snapshot, not my quote.
If DAM will not board you, either city that same week works. I would pick Beirut for the shorter road, Amman if you want a bus company and a simpler morning.

I did the cheap hops from Cola in April, not Singer. Minibus to Chtoura, changed a little into pounds there because the changer at the border looked greedy, then a short servis to Masnaa. Lebanese exit, a few dollars across the pass, cash visa, then another minibus toward town. Most of a morning. I did not agree one price before the door shut and I paid for that once — do not be me.
I would not leave Beirut after lunch in a shared car. A booked private car is the version that still knows that day’s hours. Amman I have not done. If Singer is full, the hops exist. They are slower and cheaper, not a second timetable from a screenshot.
