US passport at the land border — $200, and 15 days or 30?
American. I would rather cross from Lebanon or Jordan than gamble on a DAM check-in desk that has never seen a US passport this week.
State Department writes visa on arrival, about $200, 30 days — and on the same page tells you to get a visa before you fly. Washington has been closed for years. That is not a plan.
What did the window actually stamp this year? Same cash at Masnaa as at the airport? And do they still argue about tired hundreds?

Bring about US$200 in clean notes. That is what American passports have been paying for a short tourist stamp in 2025–2026, land and air, since the July 2025 fee decision. Old blogs that say the land visa is free are quoting the earlier rule.
State Department prints two sentences that do not agree: visa on arrival at DAM or by land, about $200, 30 days — and “get it before you travel.” The Washington mission has been closed since 2014. The working desk is the window in front of you.
Read the stamp before you leave the glass. Airport arrivals more often get 15 days. Land has been 15 or 30. Do not assume 30. Torn hundreds, or a very old series, get argued. A crease usually passes.
If the window asks a different amount tomorrow, pay or walk — and tell us. I will not freeze the figure as law.
