How we write

News does not replace the city page. If a rule changes, we rewrite the paragraph on that URL and stamp a new date. We do not open a second post because the week was busy.

Visa, money, and safety pages are written by an editor. We do not run live fee calculators, border boards, or flight boards. A Syrian gazette or an Arabic crossing note is often public before an English summary. We read both before we stamp the date.

We prefer a named source: an official gazette, embassy wording, a first-hand note. Tour desks publish tables; we use them to find the disagreement, not to freeze a fee. When two sources disagree, we print both, with dates. We do not pick the prettier number.

We distinguish the tourist circuit from the rest of the map. A calm week in old Damascus is not a claim about the east.

If we cannot verify a fee or a crossing, we say so. Silence is better than a confident error. If a line is wrong, use Report an error. The next click is a city or Plan.

Travel to Syria is independent. Entry rules change. Confirm with an official source before you travel.
