Palace
Azem Palace
Hama’s Azem, after the norias — the smaller house, not the Damascus palace or its first-grade ticket. Cash pounds. Skip it if the wheels ate the hour, or if Tuesday. Operator 2026: second-grade, often closed Tuesday, no photographs inside the rooms. Confirm at the door. Checked 13 September 2026.

- Hours
- Hours still disagree in 2026: operator attractions list daytime, winter about 09:00–15:00, Tuesday closures common. The same operator’s hours table for Hama names the norias and omits this palace. Petit Futé still prints 09:00–18:00 except Tuesday, with a stale pound figure. Confirm at the door.
- Ticket
- Cash pounds. The January 2026 antiquities fee list, as that operator published it, names this Hama house second-grade — not Damascus first-grade, not 100,000. One 2026 operator sheet prints 50,000 and calls that a few dollars, then prints the same 50,000 as a different dollar figure; they still mix old and new. A backpacker page updated 4 September 2026 puts Hama on the Orontes in the lede, then prints the Damascus 100,000. Independent notes put museum tickets in the few-dollars range. Arabic pages print no 2026 desk figure. Ask new or old. Confirm at the door.
- Respect
- Operator 2026: no photographs inside the rooms. Confirm at the door. Courtyards. Shoes if they say so. Do not treat the house as a set. You do not need a tour. Do not climb the norias.
