Wooden wheels on the Orontes in Hama, Syria. No ticket. Daylight. They turn when the river is high — walk anyway. Do not wait for a named wheel. No climb. Families on the bank. A stop from Homs (about 30 minutes) or a drop from the M5. Checked 13 September 2026.

- Hours still disagree in flavour, not in a closing bell: operator 2026 and a September 2026 visitor page — open-air, always; daylight is the visit; late afternoon if you want the light. It is a riverbank, not a museum timetable. They turn when the river is high; if the bed is low they sit. Confirm that morning.
