Castle
Krak des Chevaliers
Krak des Chevaliers (Qal’at al-Hosn) is the two rings of wall west of Homs — a morning from Homs, not from Damascus. Cash pounds at the gate. Operator 2026: 90 minutes if you rush, two hours if you stop. The chapel is the inner-court hall; that is the Chapel page. St George monastery is on the road, not this castle. Restoration is listed through 2026–2027; walk what they open. You do not need a tour. Checked 13 September 2026.

- Hours
- Hours still disagree in 2026: operator lists daily, about 09:00–18:00 in summer, 09:00–15:00 in winter. A visitor page had 09:00–17:00. Older lists had winter until 16:00. Those lists do not mark a closed day. Confirm at the gate.
- Ticket
- Cash pounds at this gate. This is the castle ticket; the chapel is the same ticket. First-grade DGAM band from 1 January 2026. Operator sheets in January 2026 still named 100,000 pounds for this castle and mixed old figures. The site desk, in an Arabic note on 22 January 2026, named 100,000 pounds for foreigners. Ask new or old. Do not convert it to dollars.
- Respect
- Ramps and stairs. Some edges have no fence — walk the inner courts if heights bother you. Restoration is listed through 2026–2027; walk what they open. Do not climb damaged stone. Do not treat the castle as a set.
