Aleppo Citadel
The mound in the middle of the old city. Stone bridge, cash ticket, often closed Tuesday — confirm at the gate. Ramps, courtyards, a view. This is the morning. Parts may still be roped off; walk what they open. You do not need a tour. Getting around Syria has the road in. Checked 13 September 2026.

- Hours still disagree in 2026: operator lists about 09:00–18:00 in summer, 09:00–15:00 in winter, often closed Tuesday. Visitor lists in August 2026 had 09:00–16:00. Other pages 09:00–17:00. An Arabic visitor page lists 09:00–17:00 and does not mark Tuesday closed. Confirm at the gate.

- Cash pounds at the gate. One 2026 operator sheet prints 100,000 and calls that a few dollars; they still mix old and new. The January 2026 antiquities fee list, as that operator published it, does not name this citadel. An independent 8 September 2026 note lists about US$20 and says the price had gone up. Ask new or old. Confirm at the gate.

- Ramps and edges. Water, shoes. Walk what they open. If there is a checkpoint at the gate, no photographs of uniforms. Do not treat the citadel as a set.
