Souq al-Hamidiyya
Covered bazaar from the citadel end. It dumps you at the Jupiter columns and the Umayyad Mosque. No ticket to walk it. Copper and cloth are still in the lane. Bakdash is about the middle if you want it; it is not the point of the walk. First shops from either mouth quote tourist prices — walk in. Cash pounds; ask new or old. - Hours still disagree in 2026: operator citywide retail 09:00–21:00; a visitor page 09:00–20:00; a 2026 city guide roughly 07:00–18:00, some until 21:00, and Friday closed. Other lists 09:00 or 10:00 until 20:00 or 21:00. Some pause at prayer. Friday can be quieter early — some 2026 pages say most shops shuttered, sweets still on. Confirm that morning.

- Agree a price before it is wrapped. Cash pounds; ask new or old. Do not buy in the first shops. Do not film shopkeepers as if they were a set. The scarf stays in the bag until the mosque door. You do not need a tour to walk the lane.
