Street
Straight Street and Ananias
Quieter than Hamidiyya, toward Bab Sharqi. The Chapel of Ananias is a short underground stop, not a morning. The street has no ticket. Ananias is the disciple who restored Saul’s sight. Church dress: shoulders and knees, no mosque robe. Evening in Bab Touma is after. You do not need a tour. Clothes are on What to wear in Syria. Checked 13 September 2026.

- Hours
- The street is always there. Chapel hours still disagree in 2026: one operator list 10:00–17:00 daily; other visitor pages typically 09:00–17:00; an Arabic visitor page says morning to evening. Confirm if you specifically want the crypt.
- Ticket
- The street has no ticket. The chapel is not on the January 2026 antiquities fee list. An Arabic visitor page says no entrance fee; one English page asks a small cash donation. Carry pounds. Do not treat a listed figure as the desk. Confirm at the door.
- Respect
- It is a church. Cover shoulders and knees. No mosque robe. Ask before you photograph people at prayer. You do not need a guide to dress or to go down the stairs.
